Aristotle’s philosophy was basically the opposite of that of Plato ’s. They disagree in virtually everything, which I found very amusing considering that Aristotle was Plato ’s student.

Nominally derived from Plato 's metaphysics, neoplatonic philosophy regards the natural world as a series of emanations from the nature of god. During most of the medieval period, this system was the most influential version of Plato 's thought.

Plato was not in Athens, but rather he was on his first visit to Syracuse. We should not think of Plato 's Academy as a non-political organisation only interested in abstract ideas.
